What’s in a Wallet?

I own a lovely leather wallet bought from one of those bag stores that sell luggage and a few odds and ends relating to luggage and I must say, it’s a nice wallet and does the job nicely. But one thing I’ve noticed is that you can buy a cheap leather wallet and you can buy a rather expensive leather wallet and I rack my brains to understand what on Earth is the difference.

It’s not the size as this USD$1,894.95 wallet (it’s on sale by the way -_-) shows:

BALLY Galant-E/20 Wallet - Amazon.com
Too bad if you wanted to hold any kind of change or anything more than your green ladies and plastic people. And what’s the difference between that and this genuine cow leather wallet:

Alexander Julian Colours Leather Bifold Wallet - Amazon.com
…for USD$14.99 apart from the mortgage? Unfortunately, from all my research I’ve found nothing to suggest that price has ANYTHING to do with the product you are buying. As long as it has a zip for the coin department and ample note and card space, and has been well-made from quality materials I don’t see where any differences lie apart from a considerably empty wallet at time of purchase.

Jeans > Other Pants?

Now this is the story all about how My life got flipped, turned upside down
And I’d like to take a minute and I’ll keep it clean
I’ll tell you how I stopped wearing normal pants and started with jeans
I wore cargoes and straight pants where ever I was
as casual pants go I thought they were the ones, cause
long shirts, short shirts, tee-shirts so fine
until my pants were ripped up mother took this as a sign
]Powerhouse M & F[ is the store she chose
I tried on some jeans and what do you suppose
I looked damn good, and with a pair of new shoes
I was a hot mother flipper with nothing to lose
and as my other pants when into decay
I’ve been wearing nothing but blue jeans since that very day

That is EXACTLY how it went down – if anyone tells you otherwise they’re a liar and a thief and probably wear suspenders.

But, there is always a but (he-he-he, butt), upon started this blog – whenever I started it (keeping track of time just lets you know how badly you’ve wasted it so let’s live in ignorant bliss for a little while longer) – I thought to myself, why not wearing non-jeans in a casual sense. I own plenty of business pants as I wear them to work and look pretty spiffy doing so, but I cannot remember wearing anything other than jeans since that day in a casual environment.

As you have no picked up so far, that is my current challenge to myself and I plan on fulfilling it.

Minute two: it’s not going well, I look at all of these picture and I cannot see myself wearing any of them! What does one wear with casual pants? Do tee-shirts still work? How come all of these picture are from the hips down? I need fashion guidance you bastards!

Minute five: I’ve found a nice pair for $250+ – I hate you fashion world.

Minute six: these look good but apparently I’m supposed to wearing them with thongs and without a top. That’s all well and good but I don’t own any thongs nor is my chest in any way attractive (it hasn’t grown/developed since I was twelve -_-).

RUSTY SHEETYA PANTS - SurfStitch
Minute ten: I think I’ve found some that I can work with :).

Minute fourteen: These were amongst the most popular (I’m starting to suspect that maybe what I want and what you people want are completely different things).

Minute twenty-six: It looks like the longer I look the more trollop I find. In lieu of my impending pants breakdown I’m going to back to my original pair and see how that works out for me :/. I’ll get back to you kids on how well it turns out.

WTB Sexy Dress Watch

I haven’t had to buy a watch in a LONG time. Actually, I’ve only just replaced the battery and band in my casual Rip Curl watch, before that I was watchless for a long while.

Like most things on this blog, I really have no idea what I like nor do I have any idea where to look and what is ‘dressy’ and what is just stupid. Let’s go through a few features to see what I want at the end of the day:

  • Waterproof: this would be nice so there are less accidental situations that cause my watch to depart from this world before its time.
  • Band material: my mind automatically tells me that if it is to be a dress watch it should probably be a metal band of some sort.
  • Analogue: This is a hard one, while a nice analogue watch wouldn’t be out of place there are some very stylish digital watches floating around out there as well – looks like this one is undecided for the time being.
  • Extras: I really cannot see me using any features that aren’t the time itself and maybe the date. While it’s always quite impressive to have sixty-eight different dials on your watch I can only assume every dial adds an extra $x amount to the final price and so, for the time being, I’m going for simplicity over dialarama for the time being.
  • Size: My arms are my best feature; I mean that as modestly as I possibly can! So a watch has to fit my arm perfectly in order to add to the beauty as opposed to make it look like it sticks out like a pair of dog’s balls. I also have very long and skinny arms too, so probably a moderately sized watch would probably be the best way to go.

Look, I’m not even going to bother looking anywhere else than fossil.com. I found this website off of one of those shopping.com or price grabber websites and their watches are so sexy and cheap that I’m not going to search through the 163 pages to blindly search for something decent when I’m sure I’ll be happy with something here.

Those are some of the nice ones that I’m looking to purchase very soon. An interesting fact though, while I was searching I thought I’d see what there was as far as ‘fake’ Fossil watches and I couldn’t seem to find any that were below $200. Now considering that most if not all of the watches on the Fossil website are below $200, I’m confused to how the fakes are almost twice the price of the genuine articles.

Shopbot

I have been using ShopBot when buying anything remotely computer or electronically flavoured for years now and it has never occurred to me, not even once, to use it for my fashiony related quests.

Hmm, either there’s no decent Australia online fashion related retailers or ShopBot need to improves its pool of source sites. Well this was a disappointment.
