Not Just a Bag

Do you have one of those bags with a thousand useful pockets on the straps for your phone, music player, pen, wallet, gum, change, and anything else you don’t want to fish around your bag for? Does your bag usual remain mostly empty as it seems to spend most of its time carrying those one or two handfuls of essentials and nothing else? Well I think Setgo have designed a little product that’s just what you need :).

While Setgo are marketing this product as a bag it seems to more like I describe: a very well designed strap from a backpack or sling with the bag itself. Also, unlike most well-designed and incredibly helpful accessories, this one does not cost you a small fortune. It is not bargain basement at USD$79 but it is still affordable for a well made and useful ‘strap’ for those who spend most of their lives on the move.

Zara Love and Hate

I have been seeing quite a few pictures here and there of the new Zara collection for men around the place and I have, at least so far, liked what I have seen. The pictures, unfortunately, have been small or of questionable quality, so I thought I’d jump straight to the sauce and navigate my way to Zara.com. As much as their clothing makes me smile, their website does not. It rarely loaded pages correctly in Mozilla Firefox, and when it did it took longer than it should have. I have quite a nice internet connection, I should not have to wait while a web-page trickles in at around 1KB/s. Which bring me to my point, flash is not the catch all for designer web-pages! It does, however, make you look like every other designers web-page which I imagine cannot be goal that you guys are aiming for 😐 (seriously, learn some AJAX or something).

After trying it in IE with IE Tab Plus and getting slightly better but not impressive results I decided to find the collection elsewhere. Luckily everyone’s favourite fashion blog, The Fashionisto, is, like always, right on top of the ball and has all the goodies that you could possibly desire.

The big winner for Zara’s 2010 autumn collection is the trench coat love! To quote the song in my left ear “so long, so long, so long” is has been that I’ve seen such impressive trenches in the designer spotlight (at least to my knowledge, albeit limited at best). Of course, they probably cost an arm and a leg as all nice things do, but as long as they are less than Abby Shot’s CAD$1499 Leather Duster, one cannot complain.

Countdown to Violence

Rarely does a fashion collection grab my attention like Nom de Guerre Autumn 2010 collection, Countdown to Violence. From the ‘trailer‘ directed by Zach Gold that reminds me of the PMC ads directed by Logan at the beginning of Metal Gear Solid 4, you know that Nom de Guerre means business. Featuring VERY slick military inspired clothing that is as menacing as it is cool. It is just a pity that the price tag is way out of my reach.

Nasa Scientists Braced for ‘Solar Tsunami’ to Hit Earth

Telegraph: “The earth could be hit by a wave of violent space weather as early as Tuesday after a massive explosion of the sun, scientists have warned.” This could seriously be a problem! Apparently two massive eruptions (each the size of our little planet I might add) on the Sun has sent a ‘solar tsunami’ hurtling straight toward our adorable planet.
